American people, please help me out here.
When you use the word “quite”, do you use it in a positive way, or to say “kind of”?
I don’t often use “quite” as an adverb, but when I do, its meaning is much closer to “very” than “kind of”. Of course, that doesn’t even touch on its use as an interjection.
The Witch’s House is one of my new favorite games. It proves that games don’t have to have amazing graphics to be scary, and that scary games can have compelling and emotional plots. that things like pomme de terre and pineapple have “apple” in them because
once upon a time apple was the word for fruit

i find it really weird that the french and english words for apple, which aren’t etymologically related at all, both used to mean fruit.
